Jennifer L. Reisner, LCSW, MSW
Jennifer completed her Masters in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania. While there she interned at the Providence House Willingboro Shelter working with women and their children who experienced domestic violence. Upon graduation she began working at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in the Neurological/Neurosurgical units helping patients and their families around coping with chronic and terminal illnesses. She also counseled heart transplant patients leading support groups post transplant.
She worked with The Meadows- Trauma and Addiction Treatment Center in Wickenburg, Arizona where she trained with Pia Mellody, author of Facing Codependance in her Post Induction Therapy model which is a trauma treatment protocol that focuses on healing childhood trauma and the resultant developmental difficulties.
More recently she became interested in how trauma not only effects the mind and the way we think but also how that remains stored in the body and how the body interprets and processes the impact of the trauma. As a result she completed training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in 2007 and more recently EMDR 2.0. She has been using these successfully with patients in helping them to get past painful traumatic experiences.
